Hi guys, ok, the touch diamond has a gps but no software/maps for it.
I've tried getting something online but it's not easy to find maps for South Africa (only option is to pay...hmmm).
This one guy at my work got the Samsung Omnia - now this phone comes with Garmin software and South African maps. He was trying to copy his contacts on the PC and asked me for help. He had the phone's cds with him, so I installed activesync for him, but it doesn't seem to function to well - think his XP needs some updating, but it's a work PC. Anyways, while it was installing he said he needed to meet someone outside. His garmin cd was on his desk, so I took it and just copied the files over on my PC (while he wasn't there), I don't have any cd burning software on the pc to create an image with, so this was my only solution. I found the page on his desk with the serial (I think), I wrote it down. Now I just need to transfer those files onto my flash drive and get them home.
OK, he still has not got his GPS working yet (he's very clueless). So, I don't even know if I can use the software on the Touch Diamond, but when I try it, I'm a little worried if I use the serial and then he will not be able to use it. Could this be the case (I'm unsure if the software logs the serial online or something)? Otherwise, maybe I can find the software online and then use the maps from the CD (I haven't look through the CD's contents yet).
Input please..
