wow, that's so cool, a "vcr" that uses flash memories instead of cassettes, and leaves it ready for our phone or other devices. That would be so handy and a real time saver. No need to download and convert vids, if you record it from your tv/cable/satellite/dvd/vcr it'd save so much time

And since it's real time recording it can be easier to schedule (and doesn't bog down your comp)

Now if only it wasn't so pricey...

I'm guessing part of the reason is because it's not coming out till October
But I was able to find out that it has a max resolution of VGA (640x480) and though I don't know the minimum it does support 320x240
It will record in mpeg-4 (what codec or codecs it doesn't say) in different formats and different quality levels

If done properly this could be useful for just about everybody.

One advantage that they mention which is true is that solid state (flash) memories consume a lot less power than hard drives or optical drives and as such allow things like laptops to have a longer battery life for playback.
It can record up to 3.5 hours of "high quality" (whatever that means) video per GB

can be programmed to record shows (up to 30 I think it said), has an infrared transmitter to turn on the cable/satellite/whatever box to be able to get the signal for a programmed recording, and has an on-tv gui

it's slated to cost 129.99 dollars US (which means if I ever get it it will be long after the price drops)
