Help needed with a new Phone

Hello there frendz my aunt brought me a new motorola phone called V360. The phone supported O2 service there. When i tried to remove the O2 card and inserted my Airtel one , I got a message asking for a subsidy code .

What this could be ??
How can I overcome this ??

Please help as soon as possible..

I am assuming that O2 was bound to the phone by the manufacturer.

Unlocking is the key!

The phone must be unlocked/jail-broken to access in India.

What is an Unlocked Phone?

You need money to do that, any local technocrat expert in your city can do it.
