i downloaded the program u suggested but i dunno how to change the settings , i have a japanese course in videos that i wanna put in my ming, i used the default settings the program came with to convert n avi video in to rm

but things went wrong , the videos i have r 77 megas after converting ended up in 95 megas , well i wanted to make them smaller not bigger, then i came back n watched the settings u have i used the same ones but the video didnt get smaller either now turned ti 81 megas, is there any guide to know how to change the settings to make the video smaller but to keep it good, i downloaded a simpsons episode from this page n was only around 19 megas or something like that n usually n episode is 140 megas, how can i do this ?

i would appreciate any help, i googled before asking but i dnt really know how to look for cuz i dnt even know how it is called , i tried to find but nothing

what is the actual size ,resolution ,playback time of the video thay you are trying to convert??

the settings i gave roughly translate to 1 mb = 1 minute

i wonder if there is a way to calculate or a pattern to follow to know how i should do it, how i should set the parameters during the conversion, meanwhile this r the videos i wanna convert

well just check 1 thing :

1 have you set the FPS to 15

just take a screen cap of the settings you are using and paste it here..

the settings i was using r the same u posted in ur thread , i just followed what u dd, but the file that was 77 megas ended up in 80 megas or more

how can i learn how to set it, i wanna make them small no bigger than 20 megas, is there any table of conversion or any parameters to follow or some table , something to have a guidance ,cuz wouldnt b nice each time i have something to convert come n ask , i wanna learn

try the calculator button on the top

give the values for time and size (like 20:0.000 , 20000 kb U will get the approximate bitrate required)

then use these settings (along with the low audoi and FPS)
It should work just fine

how do you get to the settings, in order to change them, i cant figure that out in the progam you posted to download
