hi. this is already available in china for about US$280. i bought one a few days ago. a few features mentioned in the net reviews are missing though like spatial audio, multiple equalizer settings (mine only has 5 settings), and since it is china mobile branded there is only one theme and i have no idea where to get more themes for it (bummer). the E2 also has skipping problems with the HT820 stereo bluetooth headset.

I'm curious as the net reviews were almost all very positive. Does it have PIM functions?

and if it is popular in China, then it will probably be released in other areas within the year (hopefully with all functions discussed in the reviews enabled)

hi elaine. sound through wired headset and speakers is very good, louder and more bass than the E398, although i think the E398 speakers are better since the E2 speaker is at the back of the phone.

i'm not sure what PIM function you are looking for. it has calendar, calculator, world clock, alarm clock, task list, email, notes, etc. the standard stuff.

airplane mode is great, you can still access all the phone functions that do not require the gsm radio signal. it can even turn on bluetooth if you need it but keep the gsm radio signal off.

hi there leskov. i know someone who has a non-branded E2 firmware (bought in taiwan). do you know how to dump the phone's firmware? if you can give me a step by step instruction then we can try to get that unbranded firmware. i am still searching this forum on how to do a firmware dump (i already saw motodump) but i am not sure if it will work for E2.
