Need help for Unlocking V8

Hi to all, its my first time here so just feel free to point me in the right direction if Im posting on the wrong forum. Thank you. So, Can anyone help me. My Uncle send my father a locked Motorola V8. I just dont know what carrier it is locked to. I just know that my Uncle already called whatever carrier it is locked but didnt want to release the unlock code. We already tried going to a local phone store to have it unlocked but the storeman is giving us a very steep price saying its a brand new model like it havent reached our country yet (like duh, theyre already selling V9 here, hehehe, but Im a good person and pretended I didnt know that, LOL). So theyre you go, thats my story. Could anyone help me or point me to a website that could??? I would really appreciate all you help. Thank you very much.

Really? Try to change it's firmware, otherwise be a good person and pay the shop guy the very steep price...... Good Luck good person T_T
