This is really subjective based on your personal tastes and style. But i really like the looks of this special edition V8. In my opinion the phone looks very classy with the two tone black with gold plate trim. I must admit that i was skeptical on it since i never liked the D&G V3i, i thought it was way to flashy for my taste. But when i received my unit i was pleasantly surprised. The gold trim matches well with the phone without being too flashy, which i liked alot. Check out my pictures and state your opinions freely here!

The "snake skin" back is very nice, although i really think its just textured rubber then actual leather. My favorite part is feeling the bumps throughout the back, it really gives it a great sense of grip and makes it just feel expensive, it kind of reminds me of a Vertu phone . Overall its a nice upgrade from the original V8 which if you read my review on it i said i did not like the back of the phone because i felt it looked cheap and out of place compared to the rest of the shiny phone. But this luxury edition makes for a really complete design. Well done Motorola.

Features -

As with all Luxury Edition models it comes with 2gb's of internal storage for all your media and applications. Besides that nothing has changed from the regular model. The only different is the theme labeled "GOLD". While it does give it a nice look, i feel that they could of done a slightly better job with its resolution. My firmware was 3CR for any reference purposes, and unfortunately it has no USB-NET option enabled as i was hoping that it might.

If you want to learn more about the V8 please read my initial review on it. It can be found on this very forum.

Value -

So heres the big question.. Is it worth it and should i purchase it??
I think its worth it if you care about style and exclusivity. For certain this will be expensive, i am not sure how expensive yet but it will worth a pretty penny. I personally like having phones that are rare and that look classy & stylish. So i can actually see myself owning one of these instead of the standard V8. So if your one of those people who really consider style and rareness while purchasing a phone, then this is your phone for the holiday season.

Excepted Date of Release is Sometime in December According to my contacts. But it might be released late November if Motorola decides. Good luck getting your hands on one!
