Thread: Qtopia-4.3.0 for A780. Openezx-2.6.23-1 kernel.

  1. Default Qtopia-4.3.0 for A780. Openezx-2.6.23-1 kernel.

    Hi.
I have made Qtopia-4.3.0 image for motorola A780.
It works ok, but still in early alpha mode. The GUI looks nice.

But, i havent got the phone and camera working. So it's just for fun to see how Qtopia.4.3.0 runs on A780.

I'll make a new image when the phone driver is working, and we have it working under Qtopia.

Use it at your own risc: Download:
The kernel zImage is located in the /boot folder inside the tar.bz2 file. The image has to be extracted to the second partition on your TransFlash card. You will need a linux computer to boot it and for creating a linux filesystem on your transflash card. Good luck.

    UPDATE:

New hostplace. This will be my permanent host place for my A780 images.

    Great work!
Qtopia runs very smooth on A780.

Here is a video of goxboxlive's rootfs.

What are the odds of getting it to run on top of regular EZX, like opie1.2 did? I assume it lacks many up-todate components?

the old opie is running on top of the 2.4 montavista kernel.
this versions needs an actual 2.6 kernel.

Amazing work! Any chance of a ported version for the A1200 and E6 models?

And why would you want to do that?
IIRC the only missing hardware support to the OpenEZX kernel is the camera.

Ok, we still lack gprs too, but its on the way!

    hi alpha,
nice to see you in A780 forum

i guess an A1200/E6 version will be made if the kernel is in a working state (needs still some more time/developers or developers time).
