if i look at the status page, the last entry was september 2007 with an update of the mmc driver status.

Thanks for all your comments. I looked at http://www.openezx.org/ an the last entry is 2007-june-10. so, thats why i was a bit worry....
but as i see there is still somebody working at the main things. maybe we get a christmas gift?????

@wyrm: I had same probs as intoxicated with the zImage-2.6.23.1-openezx on my second hand reflashed asian A780 with R52_G_0D.74.A2R and BP:R52_G_0D.41.B1P - but it works nicely with zImage-a780-intoxicated.

(just to show that intoxicated's A780 is not the only one that behaves like that)

Why do you want a new version, the one that exist today works fine.
We have made a howto so it shouldnt be that complicated to add a new section for booting a openezx kernel:

Yes, this works( nice HowTo, thanks), but this is only for 2 kernels, one original moto and one openezx. This ( http://people.openezx.org/alexzhang/ )is able boot more kernels from MMC, but only for A1200. Wyrm wrote about modifing it to all EZX phone.
