Verizon Wireless will begin charging its own partners, such as Google, ESPN, and others, 3 cents to deliver text messages to Verizon Wireless subscribers. The move was announced today and is supposed to help cut down on the overhead costs heretofore absorbed by Verizon in delivering those text messages. Any company that delivers text messages to users for various notifications will have to pay the fee.
