Default How to port an installed ezxlocal theme to diska or mmc

CAUTION: any mistake in following this tutorial while editing the dhm file may give a wiered look to the theme onl your phone. if it happens, edit the file again. i am doing this guide mainly for ppl who can take risk. it is not much possible to have a crash due to this guide, but if it happens, i am not responsible.

NOTE: if you are trying, please backup your data first.

before proceeding, please refer to this thread and this thread to know the sensitivity of issue and understand what i actually mean.

i assume that you have already read the mentioned thread and also know about how to telnet to phone. if you dont know how to telnet then there are guides to help you out. consult them or use search of forums if you want to explore more on your own.

    here is what to do...

we will do it in 2 portions. first is to use Editor_E by BlackHawk to edit /ezxlocal/download/appwrite/setup/[TargetTheme].dhm
once the file is opened in editor then,
    1. look for the lines containing the text /ezxlocal/download/theme/
    2. now replace the text /ezxlocal/download with /diska if you want to use phone memory. if you want to use memory of SD card them replace the same text with /mmc/mmca1
    3. do not disturb rest of the portion of the line
    4. perform steps 1-3 for all lines containing /ezxlocal/download/theme
    5. optional but i recommend changing all dhm files.
    6. leave the default theme dhm files unchanged. i repeat, its better that u dont change default theme dhm files.

now we have edited all or desired dhm file(s), we can move to next portion.
    1. establish telnet connection with computer
    2. telnet guarantees that u have a valid usbnet connection with phone so you can open phone in you file explorer of PC OS.
    3. Open \\169.254.142.2\system in your file explorer. Linux users will use the IP as 192.168.1.2.
    4. go to ezxlocal\download
    5. copy the theme folder to \\169.254.142.2\system\diska or \\169.254.142.2\system\mmc\mmca1 depending on your change in dhm files.
    6. delete the contents of \\169.254.142.2\system\ezxlocal\download\theme folder. i repeat, delete contents of folder, do not delete the folder(its better).

you are done. all of installed ezxlocal themes r ported to your desired location.

i've done this guide in a hurry cuz i dont have much time to spend on it. anyone, feel free to improve it as per desire.

and it works. i have all my themes ported to mmc. well, to make it more easier, i used wordpad in windows to edit dhm files and then place them back to /ezxlocal/appwrite/setup
i didnt mention it cuz may be its easier for ppl to edit dhm files on phone using some native editor.

also i've modified instructions, modifying a dhm file will not kill you phone but may give wiered looks to themes. i got some critical comments about that so much dangerous caution. i apologize to all who got afraid due to my exagerated caution
yes, i was wrong, editing dhm file will not kill the phone but will give wiered looks to you theme if not edited properly.

the great thing about this is that it allows one to have various themes without filling up ezx. We have to remember to switch to an ezx theme when using mass storage or telnetting in instead but even if we forget the phone just hangs. None of the horrors of having to reflash due to the phone being stuck from filling up the ezx

will this work with the m-mix theme?
cause that one doesn't have normal files in the folders. just .ezx files...

    akhaliq,
Can we use EZXEditor to edit the .dhm file? Is this method correct :

    Open /ezxlocal/download/appwrite/setup/[TargetTheme].dhm
    Edit the .dhm file.
Replace all the "/ezxlocal/" word in the .dhm file with new word i.e. /diska/ or /mmc/mmca1/
    Save the file.
    Close EZXEditor.

After finish we intall new theme. And edit as above for the new theme we install. And so on for others theme we want to install.

Let say if we install 10 themes, when we tap Setup and open Colour Scheme we can see all the 10 themes we install. Is this correct. Is this also as in the Theme Manager?
