External display/touch keys can't be blocked: OS bug or defective unit?
My girfriend bought herself a U9. I was with her when she unboxed it, and I helped her to understand and use most of U9 functions. It's a nice little girlie phone, BTW.
I was worried about its external touchscreen display when listening to music, about its behavior when inside a trousers pocket, for example. Anything could activate the display, jump to another song or pause the mp3 player, and the display would also be always turned on. Reading the manual, I found out that the left funcion key, that one just below the volume keys, could be long-pressed to block the display and the touch keys, so the U9 could be put in a bag or pocket without activating those. To unblock, a long press on the same key was needed. That's just what I was expecting.
It happens that with some usage, that left function key was not working like that. It could do all the stuff related to it... but could not block the external display or touchscreen keys!
Intrigued, I did some search, googled a little, and this is what I discovered: when I turn on the phone and start listening to mp3, I close the flip and I'm able to block the display and touch keys with that left function key. If I open the phone, make a call, and the call is completed, when I hang up and continue listening, then the left key doesn't block the display/touch keys anymore, until I turn off and on the phone. That's really weird!
Does anybody have a similar problem?? I found three or for people here in Brazil that had the same problem. I guess it's an OS bug rather than a defect, but I'm not sure.
