I got same problem as you with Theme Manager 030206 (the new one after 1.61) in some of my repacking themes.
so I use 1.61 It work fine.
@eakrin
I was trying to install one theme with icons on my E680 (not i) firmware R52 by using Theme Manager from intoxicated! What was happen:
Click on MTF browser goes to SD card as to find folder which contains *.mtf theme installation file (packed by Yours manual in *.tar.gz/changed to *.mtf), clicking on this file gives me free memory storage in /ezxlocal which is more then 3 MB. Clicking on install gives me dialog
...installing... (or something like this..)
Ending with this I was trying to find install theme going on Themes delete button and it gives me that no theme wasn't installed! Why, ..?
After rebooting the same status is still present! Free memory storage on /ezxlocal is the same but no theme installed. Phone is working good, ..
If I run from qonsole app the following command:
tar zxvf /somewhere/MyTheme.tar.gz -C /
will unpacked archive exactly as it is packed?
/ezxlocal/download/appwrite/setup/MyTheme.dhm
/ezxlocal/download/theme/MyTheme.dhm
/mmc/mmca1/My Folder/icon/MyTheme.dhm/iconres.ezx
/mmc/mmca1/My Folder/My Folder/MyTheme/*.gif (jpg) for
Wallpaper; MyThemeOn; MyThemeOff; Background
I'm I wrong with this!?
Thanks

If I use self extracting *.mtf by click on it without use of Theme Manager 020306 did everything will be OK!
Or maybe I should use commnad
tar zxvf /somewhere/*.tar.gz -C /
I sopouse that result will be the same!?
Thanks

Using Theme Manager v.1.61 by intoxicated (Replacing the new on 020306 on the phone) gives me the same thing as previous!
Dialog ...Installing... and nothing installed on phone?
Why is that, I have no idea.
I was thinging to run command which I get as to get everything on the proper place!
Is there something wrong with Your guide for creating *.mtf as *.tar.gz using 7-zip Manager on Windows XP OS!
I was checking some successfully *.mtf downloaded previously and the difference is that after opening using 7-zip they have something like [content] file...
In my *.mtf this isn't the case.
Maybe there is something wrong in procedure for creating archive!
Thanks

hmmm seems there are lots of problems regarding to the new theme manager....
all i did is added a check after extracting the mtf file
to check if IconDir exists, and themepowerup/down images exists,
if so the installation is completed.
if there is any of the files missing the program will removed the files that got installed...
it works alright on the themes i have tested with
send me the ones that does not work and i will try to figure out why..
@intoxicated
did u test Theme manager on E680. theme on E680 slightly difference from E680i/A780.
1. E680 has no skin file.
2. E680 should have backgroundfile and wallpaper file but E680i/A780 should not.
may be this neutrino's problem is from skin file was not found in E680 theme.

well, the theme manager is only for e680i and a780, i don't have E680 to test with
@neutrino
mtf file is a tar.gz compress that change name to mtf. many of theme that i was packing and distributed work. and if you use E680 it has theme installer buildin not need to install Theme Manager.
btw all my themes did not change mytheme.tar to [Content] and It work fine. so I decide to remove this procedure in theme creation's guide.

@eakrin and @intoxicated
I use theme without skin file in it as phone by default use this way!
And Yes by default if click *.mtf on the phone it will install those files (preloaded).
Way is that different on E680i ?
@eakrin
Should I try unpack this MyTheme.mtf archive having in mind those with [Content] thing!
Thanks

@intoxicated
now i found 1 theme that cannot install with Theme Manager 020306. my A780 installed only Qingwa. after installation fail I look at theme installation folder and found this
skin file was not install.
poweron and off gif was not install.
another file was ok.
@neutrino
E680 has theme install and uninstall buildin.
E680i has mtf install (not theme install but can use) and have no uninstall.
A780 have no mtf install or uninstall.
i try to untar mtf file by tar command in my a780. result is
mtf that did not change tar file inside to [Content] -> ok
mtf that change tar file inside to [Content] -> ok
and install this 2 mtf files by Theme Manager 1.61 is ok too.
so would you send me your theme.
