    a very big and precise documentation is at sun website, i dunno the format, but you can download it.
    Learn Java, Tutorials Based On Examples is also an example of what could be a good starting point, to quickly learn with examples and exercises.
    you know, to learn programming, the best is to seat on your desktop pc, take notes and compile/try your codes...
    So nothing is really "embbed-able" IMHO.
