About swiching from windows to linux

I am using windows from last 10 years
now i am just got bored from it because of those viruses bugs crashes etc...
so i wanted to switch to Linux....
i haven't tried Linux before....
which distros should i prefer???
Can i play fifa , GTA on linux using any emulator?/?
one more doubt....
Can i install it on Pre partitioned C drive??/ n the data on the other drives can be working or not.... or i should format it????
Are the separate drivers required to make h/w work??
i am using dell inspiron 6400. is Linux compatible with it??

you are starting, ubuntu/kubuntu is your distro

use wine, search for it on synaptic ( where you find most of software for ubuntu ) and it works for running some windows apps on linux

A, B, C, D... drives doesn´t exist on linux, is like this: hda1, hda2, hdb1, hdb2...

ex: hard drive 1, partition 1 = hda1
hd= hard drive
a/b/c... number of the disc, if it's primary is a, secondary b...
1/2/3.... partition number on the disc

Just for some graphic cards and wi-fi adapters you will need driver, but based on this, it will work perfect

dude from 5yrs my desktop is having win xp but when i have changed win xp to linux suse 11 my mother board gets corrupted can any i tell me how now i m depends on my lappy only can any one give me the answer???

I hope nobody minds ;Windows was, is and shall remain my best friend ever.
Viruses, crashes,failures,I forgive Windows for all.
I will stick to it until somebody tells me a great reason to switch from windows to Linux through a video.

Faster, more secure, and free

and doesn't need 1Tb of ram to work or 5*10^22 Ghz of processor like vista needs, it uses your hardware efficiently

if you want to try linux, you want to learn, to improve, and to open your mind

but if you mind graphics issue, here is your video:
