    Arrow How-To Watch Google/Flash Video

If you really don't like being limited to the low resolution videos that you are stuck with when using the built-in YouTube app, you now have a choice! With iMobileCinema you are able to watch Flash Videos on many sites INCLUDING Google Video.

    1. You have to install a free program called
iMobileCinema, available via Cydia on your Jailbroken iPhone. You will have to add this source to Cydia: http://d.imobilecinema.com.

    2. Once you have it installed, you can use the Safari browser on your iPhone to browse the Internet. For example, the Google video site. When theres a video you want to watch, click the "play" button on the image to play it.

Arrow How to send and receive free text message (SMS) on 3G iPhone

AT&T used to bundle the some free text messages (SMS) on the 2G iPhone. They don't do that any more. You have to pay extra for SMS package. This doesn't really make sense, since you have paid unlimited data plan, which allows you to send and receive emails without additional cost. So, why pay extra for SMS? With the push email feature, you can actually send and receive free text messages from your email account on your iPhone. There are various OTHER methods but this is seamless, effective and allows you to send free SMS to your friends, but also allows them to reply directly in their SMS box, and you will get a message and an alert instantly in your email box.

    1. Open email and get into the compose screen on your iPhone

    2. In the "To" field, put the following email address, replace "xxxxxxxxxx" with your friend's 10 digit phone number without space. Well, since most of your friends are customers of AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. This shouldn't be a big problem for you.

    3. Write your email, and click send.

    Verizon: xxxxxxxxxx@vtext.com
    AT&T: xxxxxxxxxx@txt.att.net
    Sprint: xxxxxxxxxx@messaging.sprintpcs.com
    T-Mobile: xxxxxxxxxx@tmomail.net
    Nextel: xxxxxxxxxx@messaging.nextel.com
    Cingular: xxxxxxxxxx@cingularme.com
    Virgin Mobile: xxxxxxxxxx@vmobl.com
    Alltel: xxxxxxxxxx@message.alltel.com
    CellularOne: xxxxxxxxxx@mobile.celloneusa.com
    Omnipoint: xxxxxxxxxx@omnipointpcs.com
    Qwest: xxxxxxxxxx@qwestmp.com

Arrow How to use iPhone as a wireless Internet modem

Have you thought about using your iPhone as a wireless modem, so that your laptop or desktop can connect to Internet through your iPhone? Well, now you can with PDANet. Apple has not approved this application on their Apple store, so you can only get it on a Jailbroken iPhone.

PDAnet is actually not new as it has been one of the most popular software for Windows Mobile phones and Palm OS phones. It is now ported to the iPhone! The 1.2 version turns your iPhone into a true WiFi router for your computer (MAC or PC), and allows your laptop to go online wirelessly through the 3G network on the iPhone.

What are the benefits of usint PDAnet to tether your iPhone?

    * full Internet access at 3G speed (if available) on your laptop
    * easy setup
    * works with Windows, Mac, and Linux
    * ability to use other applications while using PADnet

    How to set up PDAnet?

This is a PDAnet tutorial for Windows XP. I assume steps are very simmilar on Vista. I don’t have a Mac so I can’t help you set up PDAnet on a Mac. I also posted a quick video on YouTube. The video + this tutorial should help you install PDAnet without any issue.

First, you need to create an ad-hoc network.

    1. Go to Control Panel >Network Connections
    2. Right click on “Wireless Network Connection” and select “Properties”
    3. Select the “Wireless Networks” tab
    4. Click “Add”
    5. Give a name to your network in the SSID box, ie. “iPhone”
    6. For security purposes, uncheck the box that says “The key is provided for me automatically”
    7. Enter a “Network Key” and confirm it (this will make sure no one gets on your network)
    8. Check “This is a computer-to-computer (ad-hoc) network; wire less access points are not used”
    9. Click “OK”
    10. On your iPhone, go to Settings > WiFi and your newly create network should show up, unless your computer is already connected to a router. Select your network and enter the WEP key if you set it up
    11. On your PC, go to “View Wireless Networks”
    12. Select the network you created
    13. Now it should just try to establish the connection but not connect; it’s ok
    14. On your iPhone, open PDAnet
    15. Turn WiFi router ON
    16. That’s it!

PDAnet will drain your battery like crazy so you may want to plug it to your computer to charge the battery. When you’re done using it, don’t forget to turn it off…
