Hey, everyone.. can anyone from bangalore tell me about GPRS in bangalore ? which service is good and cost.. Does edge works in bangalore ? please let me know.. it would be a great help for me..

As far as I know EDGE works with Airtel and Cellone not sure about Vodafone. The alst time I had Spice which was 6months ago they had only WAP

I'm on Hutch/Vodafone, and it works fine. This I assume without knowing any other knowledge about EDGE. Whenever I ask the Customer Care about EDGE, they tell there is no such thing as a separate EDGE network (is there supposed to be?), if your handset has it, then its there.

And I unlocked EDGE and see the 'E' whenever I browse.

no edge is a technology thats built upon the GPRS to make the browsin faster..its not a separate network..
but it may or may not be incorporated by the network [vodafone has it]

guys in bangalore, HUTCH/VODAFONE suports EDGE, i am browsing on my z6, cool speed. a piece of info may be usefull. on z6 as far as i know no need to configure ur browser just select HUTCH GPRS on your settings->connections->data connections->add a connection->Hutch gprs. u'll have many options for other networks like airtel, idea etc select appropriate one. enjoy browsing on ur moto

thats rite.. Vodafone in Bangalore supports EDGE. i m really impressed by its speed.. i Have moro rokr and use opera to Browse.. E6 has inbuilt settings for GPRS.. Use it..

Bloody Cellone idiots in Bangalore, I get 8kbps with EDGE on my E6 and my HTC Kaiser/TyTyn2, how in gods name is that edge, and it displays E ( 8kbytes/sec = 64kbits/sec for those that are confused)

Airtel Online is worth ... Its just Rs.99/- Per month and unlimited dowmloads... I've been using this from past 2 years.... Enjoy
