Can anyone let in download an azerty keyboard for the A1200 please :'(

azerty is french, I guess.

Ok, I post what I have:

- .kbd files for dutch, english-emea, french, german, italian, portuguese, spanish

- screenshots of each layout (10 pics for each keyboard) fitting to the mapping files above



I still cannot extract the keyboard .gif files from my A780, so I made the screenshots. You have to cut out the keyboard part of the pics and convert them to gif format (irfanview for example can do that). I don't want to do this with 70 pics, sorry. Be shure that you cut out the same picsel size as bOOster's example!
Sorry again, but you also have to figure out yourself, which layout has to be the first, second, third and so on, but it should be possible

If anybody has one of the above keyboards on his phone but cannot use it because the maping is missing, while language is set to automatic (I have that with german board and I've seen posts where members tell that they have other), possibly it's enough to put in the matching .kbd file.
I will try it soon (with german.kbd) but didn't have the time yet.

English_emea board is different to the existing english_cn board in A1200. It has special european letters. So using this .kbd file and renaming it to english_cn.kbd (possibly changing code to the one posted by bOOster above) needs changing .gif files in CG34 too.

I didn't test that yet so I don't really know if it works, but with these files in hand maybe other members can play a bit and post what they got to work or not. I will do as soon as possible too.

PS: If anyone is able to make cramfsck with CG34 from 46p! I'd be happy to find a link for downloading the result (for me cramfsck or fsck.cramfs still doesn't work with CG34)

For now we have only Latin layout and Chinese. Chinese input method is completly different from Latin and we can't use it for localizing. Currently we can use only English layout to make localization - and from that, we can make only two languages, Latin and something else in CAPS mode such as Russian or French or else. Other variants don't work normally. I test it, i try add another .kbd file with Russian and German layout from E680 - it's not work.
May be something change when we got a firmware from another thread. With Espaniol and English locales.

You are right bOOster.
Now I tested it too. Germanboard apears but is unusable even after putting german.kbd file in CG41/42

But where does this german or spanish layout come from? The phone is displaying them (depending on SIM card language), so they must be somewhere inside! Did you see something like that?

Also there must be a kind of registry file, where keybords are registered. Maybe we can do something there if we find it.

btw: still need help with opening CG34 from 46p!

until I have that, I'll only change english_cn.kbd (I'll have to find my 7 letters without seeing them on keybord)

Ok about Cg41+Cg42
try this utility in cygwin - cramfsck. it has -f flag and extract cramfs folume in any case if -f flag specified.
2. after extraction cramfsck create additional file - called 'rights' rename it to something to cg41.txt - this file contains all source volume attributes it owner, user and group.
when using mkcramfs tool you need use that file as last parameter - mkcramfs tool makes cramfs volume with original cramfs attributes, users, groups. if you add files to volume - you need add in rights file path to file and attributes form any file from similar file or corresponding directory.

for additional information - run utility with no flags.

Cygwin now unpacks CG34 and the locale file created with cat!
But inside CG34 from 46p I cannot find any keyboard .gif files!

I will open other CGs to look for them.

you need unpack iconres.ezx file first!!! this file contain all graphics. use only patched unpackIconRes for a1200. Look for it on first page of this thread.

can you please post the parameter you used with cramfs under cygwin?
if it's possible can you give detailed steps of what you did?
did you get your keyboard customized or not yet?

Ok, managed to do only one part.

I changed the mapping of the symbol board and put german umlaute on keys, that I dont need there (because I can access them with shift on normal english board.

Now I have my umlaute on phone but I have to remember wich keys I have to press for them because I didn't find the keyboard .gif files in CG34 (see my last post). It's only fo 7 letters so its possible to remember this, it's a big step for me, no more copy and paste
I also changed the ringtones in CG34, deleted the chinese stuff and put in most of these from CG 41/42 and some of my own. they now are dirctly accessable

I'll post the steps to this later (Im not at home now and have to work)

Regarding the iconrez.ezx file bOOster mentioned that you have to use the patched tool "unpackiconrez" that is present in the files to download from the first post in the thread. It's present in the zipped file named "iconrezezxA1200.zip"
