May be admins move topic to developing? All localizing principles are same for E680, A780, A1200 and others except CramFS volumes number and structure!

    Thanks booster!
This sounds great, but I have a problem:

did that "flash interruptus" with generic 46p. copied the CG34,41,42 files to my laptop in home/cgmod. My laptop is running ubuntu linux 5.05 (gnome desktop).

opened console, made me root and then:

    fsck.cramfs -x /home/cgmod/ /home/cgmod/CG34.smg
("cramfsck" makes "comand not found", on my distri it's "fsck.cramfs", I found out)

    console said:
/home/cgmod/CG34.smg: warning- -file length too long, padded image?
    /home/cgmod/CG34.smg: invalid cramfs- -crc error

tried that flash interruptus again, made new copies and tried again with same result
My phone is flashed with the same file I used and everything works fine!

    then I tried merging CG41+CG42:

    cat /home/cgmod/CG41 + /home/cgmod/CG42 /home/cgmod/locale

console is running through all letters and hyroglyphs that I see, if I try opening the CGs with a normal editor (needs some time). After that there is no file "locale" anywhere not in /home/cgmod/ or /home or /.
And console doesnt work anymore. I have to open a new console.
I tried that in maintenance mode (without gnome only console). Then it's faster and I can work on after that but still no file "locale".

    tried also:

    cat /home/cgmod/CG41 + /home/cgmod/CG42 locale

    same result

    What have I done wrong?
I'm new to linux and these console things, so if someone can help me, please give me exact comands for console

    Thanks
    mischka

For cg34 - file length too long - it'is not a problem, just continue extract.
Crc error, this is not a problem too - motorola use different crc byte order for CRC.
Does cramfs tool continue exctracting the volume? If not i post cramfs tool with -f - force exctract flag.

I'am sorry about cat procedure - it's format completly different!
    Try this

    cat CG41 CG42 > locale

    Thanks for this bOOster!

for CG34 Ididn'find a solution maybe I have to try cygwin?

    "cat CG41 + CG42 > locale" worked! And "fsck.cramfs -x" worked for "locale" too!

Now as I have a "germanboard" if I switch language to automatic (not working as the correct mapping is missing, but looking like the one on my A780), maybe it's enough to add the german.kbd file.
I did that and deleted a ringtone for the space.

To make "newlocale" it's "mkfs.cramfs dir newlocale" OK.
But how do I split the newlocale file in two parts (with correct size)? I don't know the comand for this.
And how do I add these 0xFF bites If needed to my newlocale file before splitting? Do i have to do that before mkfs.cramfs or after?

Next is: I can see the size only in MB I think that's not very exact.

Sorry, but I'm really a linux newbee.

You can't add only new .kbd file. It would't work. You need edit A1200 english layout. A1200 does't have german layout, other then A780 - have!

To split file you need to know file size in BYTES!! You can't split file when know only megabytes sizes!
For splitting, and editing i use Windows XVI32 hex editor -
    http://www.chmaas.handshake.de/delph...vi32/xvi32.htm,

You don't need delete something, you can add everything you want - only 'newlocale' file must be less or equal than 'locale'. 0xFF bytes filling is - is a operation filling empty space in dest packet.

    Dear bOOster,
I tried the MBM mode interrupt but I can't find the CG files to copy. Where do I find these files in RSD Lite to copy them? Or do I have to wait to a certain time before plugging the cable? I plugged the cable right after the red screen appeared and didn't quit RSD lite but couldn't find the files anywhere.
Please help as soon as you can.

    @mischka
From where did you get the CG files after you interrupted the MBM flash mode screen?

In the directory where you put original firmware file. All CG packets extract to this directory.

bOOster, Thank you very much, but:
Are these files extracted from the flash file or from the firmware I have on the phone?
As I'm on 44P and I used 46P File for the MBM Flash interrupt, so will these files be from the 44P or the 46P firm? and will they work with 44P? as I don't want to flash the firmware yet.
