Thread: Location of VR files

  1. #1

    Default Location of VR files

    Whenever the VR button is hit (always by accident, I dont use it), this loud annoying voice promps me to enter voice commands.

    I was wondering where the VR files are kept (I extracted with ezxcodec); and also if I just delete them and recompile if that will get rid of VR without messing up anything else.

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi, about this just 1 minute...
    VR it's in \cramfs-root-CG41\vui
    So just remove the folder english.
    So like example:
    - make under win a folder "A1200 firmware"
    - under "A1200 firmware" put ezxcodec
    - make under "A1200 firmware" a folder "Test"
    - put inside "A1200 firmware" the firmware xxx.sbf you wish edit
    - open ezxcodec
    firts TAB it's SBF
    Working directory -> ... select C:\Documents and Settings\antichamp\Desktop\A1200 firmware\Test
    Original SBF file -> ... select the firmware like example C:\Documents and Settings\antichamp\A1200 firmware\Amin's_PGII-16R_GREEN__7.15.2009__BETA2.sbf
    - Now click Open and after Extract
    - Now open the second TAB CramFS
    - Under Original CramFS file /info -> ... select C:\Documents and Settings\antichamp\Desktop\A1200 firmware\Test\smg\CG41.smg
    - Now click Open
    - Open a new windows and go C:\Documents and Settings\antichamp\Desktop\A1200 firmware\Test\cramfs-root-CG41\vui
    - Now delete the foder english
    - Now in ezxcodec always in second Tab CramFS under New CramFS file -> ... select C:\Documents and Settings\antichamp\Desktop\A1200 firmware\Test\smg\CG41_new.smg
    - Now click Compile
    After this go in C:\Documents and Settings\antichamp\Desktop\A1200 firmware\Test\smg
    Here you will see CG41.smg and CG41_new.smg of the same size.
    First delete CG41.smg and after rename CG41_new.smg in CG41.smg
    Now (keep always open ezxcodec) go in first TAB SBF and here under New SBF file -> ... select C:\Documents and Settings\antichamp\Desktop\A1200 firmware\antichamp.sbf and click Compile.
    You will find a new .sbf (custom by you)
    Flash
    If antichamp it's not your user change this with the correct name
    p.s.: you can also flash just one CG but just for start.... make a full flash like this.
    If problem I can make screenshot for this.

    Thanks for your help.

    How would you flash just one CG?

    It seems like that would be much more convenient.

    Maybe ...
    So open your custom firmware "antichamp.sbf " (the one you edit before with ezxcodec) with SBFCodec (desbf.exe)
    Delete all CG with Remove, only keep CG41 and RDL3
    File -> Save As... patch_no_VR.sbf
    Flash

    You must add
    1) VR files to CG41
    2) also CG43-> usr -> sysqtap -> vr
    4) some liberary files to lib and usr/lib
    it's so hard!
    definitely is impossible i suggest you use an firmware with this feature and mod other side of that!

    Adding VR:

    Copy the VUI folder from CG41 to your f/w.
    Vui folder from CG43\usr\SYSqtapp to your f/w.
    Add the below registry in the SysRegistry and add this ID "c30158ae-e2a7-4d1c-9f6c-3b079c2f4c5e" in the Sys-Menu-Tree.

    [c30158ae-e2a7-4d1c-9f6c-3b079c2f4c5e]
    Type = 2
    Attribute = 1
    Daemon = 0
    MassStorageStatus = 1
    BigIcon = Home_IM_B.gif
    Icon = Home_IM_S.gif
    AniIcon = Home_IM_ani.gif
    AppID = {c30158ae-e2a7-4d1c-9f6c-3b079c2f4c5e}
    LockEnabled = 0
    FixedPosition = 0
    FixedAllPosition = 0
    Directory = /usr/language/vui/vnote
    Exec = vnote
    Args =
    UserID = ezx
    GroupID = ezx
    Name = VR

    [c17797d8-1b84-4409-b2d9-6fc8e3563ccf]
    AniIcon =
    AppID = {c17797d8-1b84-4409-b2d9-6fc8e3563ccf}
    Args =
    Attribute = 1
    BigIcon = Home_IM_B.gif
    Icon = Home_IM_S.gif
    AniIcon = Home_IM_ani.gif
    Daemon = 1
    Directory = vui
    Exec = vr
    FixedAllPosition = 0
    FixedPosition = 0
    GroupID = ezx
    Icon =
    LockEnabled = 0
    MassStorageStatus = 0
    Name = TTS
    Type = 2
    UserID = ezx

    Finally, replace the whole CG33.smg kernel to your f/w.

    mm.

    I meant it to be for both ntnkumar and omiga because omiga had replied to a post by ntnkumar.
    Moreover this a ''general'' f/w development forum , additional information won''t eat up space.
