1st Question: Like I said, there are some CG's that you can't parse... CG43 is one of those... If you'll look, the sample I posted is on CG42... Maybe CG37 and CG34 are some of the other CG's you can't open... And use the "cramfsck -f -x /home/cg42 cg42.smg"... You need to force (-f) the parsing of CG42...

2nd Question: You need to put a space between "/home/cg34" and "new34.smg" and no "/" after "cg34"... It's like "/home/cg34 cg34.smg"... If you'll look, there is a space between "/home/cg34" and "cg34.smg"... Also, there is no "/" at the end of ""/home/cg34"... Small typographical erros will give you those error messages... Don't worry, took me also lots of time before I got it correct... Ü

    See here:

The one I circled is the old smg file and the one underlined is the new smg file you'll need to rename...

By the way, the new smg file will only be created when you put in new files, otherwise no new smg will be created...

    Hope this helps!

    *Added:

Getting those "super block" errors means you won't be able to parse files using CYGWIN, you'll need to use linux if you really want to mod those CGS...

    So if i use CYGWIN, i don't open files: CG37, CG39, CG43...
(delete first byte FF 0x000 this files ???)
    When i type
    mkrcamfs -c -n "Compressed ROMFS' /home/cg42 newcg42.smg /home/rcg42
not compile => CPU usage ~ 100% and i must close window or Ctrl + Break

    Sorry because i'm newbie....
    thanks you so much!!!

Yes to all... Ü You'll need to rename file files from like "CG42_0x025E0000.smg" to "CG42.smg"...

Well, your PC may not be handling the software enough... I suggest closing all other apps first then try again... Especially SBF codec, opening SBF files and parsing can really take a lot of system memory...

And, before parsing/compliling SMG files, you need to navigate first to /home by typing "cd /home"... I noticed that on the screenshot you posted, you did not navigate to "home" first... Look at mine and you'll see what I'm talking about...

    Hope this helps!

    Hello!

I think I'm seeing the problem here... Look at my last attached picture, and click on the picture to the right... rcg42 is not in a folder, nor is it a folder, but it's a file... Rename "rights" to RCG42, not put it in rcg42 folder...

I've attached a new picture here... Click on it and look the the picture, and look at what I circled...

Thanks for this guide. I'm able to extract Asmotoe2 multi theme CG34 through CYGWIN method except animation, skins & phone folder. These folders are showing like windows "link" file. When I'm trying with SBF_Codec, 80% only extracted, the above folders are missing again.

Hmm... Must be a software issue... Well, you can try to "Hard" Extract the CGs... When you try to flash the firmware again, while flashing, try to copy the CGs on another location then, split the CG34 smg using CYGWIN... Or open a stock firmware using SBF codec and insert the modded CGs there... I'm not having problems with SBF codec 'cause I use stock firmwares in modding...

    Hope this helps!

Wink Added download link for CYGWIN

Update 5/30/2008: I've added the link for CYGWIN for easier installation/download... Thanks to the moderators here (like aksd) for sticking this and happy modding everyone! Ü
