    not true.. its only QVGA(320x240 or/and 352x288res) and NOT VGA(640x480res) and only with 5-7FPS/sec.

    on e680(not i) is easy to get that QVGA res.
    Motorola e680 (flashed to e680i) + 4Gb SD card + HT820 Stereo BT Hedphones,
    Ubuntu 6.10 + 7.04,
    Nokia N95 + 8Gb microSD

    @asadqq

    oops.. cross posting the thread? I understand your intentions but might lead to lot more confusion

    @y-cyas

    idea is to try video recorder with h.264 (mpeg4) video codec & aac audio codec support rather than current h.263 & amr_nb codecs, not just CIF res support. I know its quite ambitious - but worth a dream

    from the FAQ-Help for e680(not i)

    Is there a way to increase the video resolution?

    Yes!
    Telnet to
    \\169.254.142.2\system\ezxlocal\download\appwrite\setup

    open ezx_camera.cfg with a text editor

    change
    BestvideoSize = Medium
    to
    BestvideoSize = Large

    Save it and use the videocam on the e680.
    Use the zoom 1.9 or higer, under that it will not work.

    ----------------------------

    if the VGA(640x480res) is possible to capture on the e680/i/g with any video/audio codec then it will be VERY SLOW! not more than 1-2 FPS!
    VGA video without a audio/video codec is nearly not possible because of the MMC/SD card-interface speed that is not that fast, even with a fast card, also an empty 1 - 2Gb card will get full very quick. also you can try that on a computer with an TV capture card, you will see that needs a fast computer for recording VGA without any video/audio codecs.

    rather try to make the Video with 320x240 or 352x288 res with an video/audio codec better so that coudl record min. 15FPS without lagging.

    VGA video is too much for the e680/i/g because they have NO inbuilded VGA video recording/processing chip e.g. like nokia phone N93 has.
