So did I!IExcept 6 - i had nothing in file except this strings.So any advice?
OK, I'm having trouble getting LinLoader installed. As a sanity check I'm going to post every action that I take in the process:
1) Set Phone to USB Mass Storage.
2) Plug phone into computer.
3) Open Xterm
4) rm -rf /media/1gig/.system/QTDownLoad/loader (Fedora Core 3)
5) vi /media/1gig/.system/java/PlugCardDB
6) Remove everything except:
[AppLinkInfo]
AppLinkCount = 100000000
[MimeInfo]
MimeCount = 100000000
7) :wq
umount /media/1gig (my SD card)
9) umount /media/MOTO_E680I (phone's internal flash)
10 unplug cable
11) restart phone by holding down bottom-right front button
12) Check "Tools" section: No LinLoader or Appnam entries.
13) Start filemanager on phone.
14) click-n-hold test.lin
15) Associate test.lin with Notes program for the time being.
16) plug phone into computer.
17) mkdir /media/1gig/.system/QTDownLoad/loader
1cp lin_loader loader.png loader-sm.png /media/1gig/.system/QTDownLoad/loader/
19) vi /media/1gig/.system/java/PlugCardDB
20) pasted the following to the end of the file:
[AppLinkRecord100000101]
AllPosition = 200
BigIcon = loader.png
Directory = loader
Exec = lin_loader
Group = 3
Icon = loader-sm.png
InstalledDate = 2005/2/19
JavaId = -1
Mime =
MpkgFile =
Name = LinLoader
OsVersion =
Position = 1
Rotation =
Shared = 0
Size = 24K
Type = 4
uid = 100000101
21) :wq (save, exit)
22) umount /media/1gig
23) umount /media/MOTO_E680I/
24) Unplug phone from computer.
25) Restart phone in same manner as above.
26) Check "Tools" section: LinLoader is there.
27) Open filemanager on phone.
2click-n-hold test.lin
29) Choose "Open With"
30) Choose LinLoader from bottom of list
31) Check "Always use ..." box at bottom.
32) Click "OK"
33) click-n-hold test.lin again to make sure that LinLoader is associated.
34) Plug phone into computer
35) vi /media/1gig/.system/java/PlugCardDB
36) Change "Type = 4" to "Type = 1"
37) umount /media/1gig
3umount /media/MOTO_E680I/
39) unplug phone from computer.
40) Restart phone as I have above.
41) Open filemanager on phone
42) tap test.lin
43) Close filemanager on phone
44) Open filemanager on phone
45) No files have been created, and LinLoader is not functioning.
I have an e680 flashed with the e680i ROM from silvio. I did not substitute the hacked smg file. Linloader ran fine before the flash, as did most other hacks floating around these forums. Can someone give me a hand?

your steps seems right. not really sure what went wrong. after step no 40, if you tap and hold test.lin -> open with, did you see its already associated with Appname?

can you instead try using the plugcarddb posted by xxxfg above instead of manually editing the plugcarddb
Tried the other files, no joy. Also, a 'diff' showed no difference between them and mine. What are the chances that /bin/bash isn't there? Another shell, maybe? Yantz, Is your website down?
Matthew
instead of changing to type=1, try type=2
i do the same with mchappee and receive the same result - even changing to type=1, try type=2 - it does'nt work - my e680i is flashed by silvio - help me pls!
this is using an example from yan0's method, credits go to him![]()
replace Directory to -> Directory = ../../../../diska/.system/QTDownLoad/loader
then put loader folder in phone instead of sd, ie phone\.system\QTDownLoad\loader
restart phone, try test.lin. it should work. this method doesnt require the association and restart and change type as i mentioned in post 1. its straight forward. thx yan0![]()
it has done nicely - thank yantz alot!
