you can try searching around this forum. I think people have posted some before. I don't think it's free because depending what you have for your telephone service, like mine, i need internet connection which i don't want to pay to use it.
Hi, I am new to IM messaging.
Is it free? I am asking because I reside in Canada and cellular services are very expensive here.
is IM a program where I can login to yahoo or MSN?
It would be nice if someone can give a detailed information?
will it use GPRS network to send IM?
Thank you

Ok,
I did a reasearch and this is what I gathered.
WHile previously I resided in India. We had a network operated IM service. I.e. the network operator provided sim activated IM service that worked as an sms. if someone send me a message I would receive it as an sms.
but now IM is a software that is installed in the phone itself. Receiving messaged is free but sending is free/charged depending on your plan. But I read on fido website( my phone's network operator) that I can also send video and files thru IM.
Is that true?
I read in our Indonesian forum, our friends E398 users have succeeded using their IM to connect to Yahoo Messenger. Perhaps we could learn from them to connect using our IM?
