fedora core 5 telnet to PC

yes fedora 5 I can't samba
I see home folder only it mean diska only when I try to samba

So the question that remains is.., has anyone been able to make it work using cifs at all? and if so what about cifs on fedora core 5?

i've tried a lot but cant work it out. i ahve FC4, FC5, Ubuntu Breezy, Linspire, WinXP all on same machine...
but its only FC5 that refuses me, and this all cos of new CIFS module.

if someone can work it out, i'll b happy.

i use suse 10.0
when i connect e680i as usblan, the driver is'nt set/installed, how can i set/install the driver????

i have the e680(not i) on "Modem Mode"

i just get this when i do ifconfig

linux:~ # ifconfig usb0 192.168.1.1 up
SIOCSIFADDR: No such device
usb0: unknown interface: No such device

is the e680i different than the e680 by telnetting?

Well the easyiest way I found to get my a780's to go to telnet mode was to use the application I found here http://motorolafans.com/index.php?na...sbmod+app+a780

But as I mentioned before.. the questions noone has answered yet is.. once the phone is connected.. and you can tenet to it.. how do you get cifs to work with it's built in samba... so you can mout from a fedora core 5 machine..

#modprobe usbnet
driver installed
#ifconfig usb0 192.168.1.1
#ifconfig
vied usb0 n all information about the usblan n driver.
when i try to telnet
#telnet 192.168.1.2
conection refused
why? how to fix?

when i unpluged my e680i and then repluged it to PC, usb0 disappeared.
ifconfig
usb0: error fetching interface information: Device not found
But when i use lsusb command, i can find my phone

you install FC6
I install FC6 it telnet to fone easy not like FC5
ifconfig usb0 192.168.1.1 mtu 900
smb://192.168.1.2/system

i have same problem in my suse 10.0 system..

i have the e680(flashed) with USB Lan integrated.
