    Default HELP!!! WHY IS LINLOADER INSTALLATION ARE SO HARD!!!!

    I REALLY GOT STUCK AFTER CONNECT USB MASS STORAGE........ ANY SIMPLIER EXPLANATION??? PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

    download and unzip loader.zip. it contains 4 files. connect usb mass storage and make new folder "loader" in sdcard\.system\QTDownLoad
    make sure you can view hidden files. in explorer settings. send these 3 files to the loader folder. you should now have:
    sdcard\.system\QTDownLoad\loader\lin_loader
    sdcard\.system\QTDownLoad\loader\loader.png
    sdcard\.system\QTDownLoad\loader\loader-sm.png

    send test.lin to phone.

    next, edit sdcard\.system\java\PlugCardDB using any unix compatible editor. wordpad is fine, but do not use notepad. if you have installed some apps into the card, you should have a pretty long file. insert these lines into the end of the file:

    [AppLinkRecord100000101] <- change this number so it doesnt conflict
    AllPosition = 200 <- change this number so it doesnt conflict
    BigIcon = loader.png
    Directory = * (see below)
    Exec = lin_loader
    Group = 3
    Icon = loader-sm.png
    InstalledDate = 2005/2/19
    JavaId = -1
    Mime =
    MpkgFile =
    Name = LinLoader
    OsVersion =
    Position = 1
    Rotation =
    Shared = 0
    Size = 24K
    Type = * (see below)
    uid = 100000101 <- change this number to the same one above.

    * for e680i:
    Directory = ../../../../mmc/mmca1/.system/QTDownLoad/loader
    Type = 2

    I agree with you that the instructions for just about everything on this site should be easier and more detailed, because every single thing that I install, I need to tweak the installation procedures to make it work correctly. I think that if you want to install lots of software from this forum on your phone, you have to kind of begin to understand how the phone works (PlugCardDB, etc) and hack it yourself. Keep trying different procedures to make it work.

    With LinLoader, I had a bunch of problems installing. The way I remedied it was by creating a folder /loader on both the /mmc (SD card) and in /diska, and trying each of them in the PlugCardDB, restarting a lot, with a lot of trial and error. The other things that I messed with to make the install work was taking out (or adding) the "../../../../" in the Directory line. If you try lots of things and restart a lot, you'll probably get it to work. I wish that one set of install instructions worked on every phone, but with each set of instructions come errors or misunderstandings or additional necessary steps.

    Good luck.

    this is call 'growing'. if u follow this forum, from beginning, u will grow with it. there is no shortcut. for example, this linloader stuff. i faced this problem initially but if ppl read more they will found out there is a much much much simple steps to install linloader (the neo version). all they need to do is transfer 3 files to phone n tap them one by one... n wah lah, linloader install without tweaking anything.

    n yeah i forget tht this is a forum. instead of keep writing to the forum tht someone need to do the guide back... why don't u do it?

    at least, contribute back to the forum by helping the newbies on steps that they miss. in ur reply, u never even gave him/her a simple thing to try, u just mention something in general... is tht a way to tell ppl how to solve their issue?

    quit yapping, n write a guide then!

    i'm very pissed!
