I appreciate your comprehensive guide. It's excellent. As far as flashing / flexing is concerned, this was my first time and I got stuck.

1. For all the NOOBS like me: REMOVE THE SIM before you flash. MultiFlashFlex would not recognize the phone with the SIM installed.

2. After I followed Section 1, I could'nt do section 2. I had to telnet, therefore Section 3 has to be done before section 2.

3. For Section 3, CG33 has many variants with long filenames. I believe the correct one is version 1.3. In case you get the incorrect version, you'd not have a root, and ofcourse telnet login would end up getting at /home?

Other than that, I really appreciate the guide. I could'nt have done it without your help.

Umm, I flashed with my sim card inserted without problems...
Program had no problems recognising the phone.

Same here Flashed with my SIM card and MMC. THe thing is that it automatically "ignores" the SIM and the MMC card when flashing - I read it somewhere.

yup tarwin and shaheer_k is right, mutltiflashflex ignores the sim and mmc/sd when flashing. but of course, for those that are scared, you can remove them if it gives you a peace of mind.

It is really an excellent guide by akhaliq. Thanks!
However, my phone don't start after flashing. It turned on with some rubbish image and followed by the Motorola standard startup animation, then it turned itself off! I cannot start it up again unless I took the battery out and place it back again.

I used the following files:
E680I_G_0D.C5.ABP_0D.B3.B1P_T674VE_L001_S004_P006_GSOE680IT674VE007_full,
E680I_G_0D.C5.ABP_0D.B3.B1P_T674VE_L001_S004_P006_GSOE680IT674VE007_fullCG33.smg,
E680I_G_0D.C5.ABP_0D.B3.B1P_T674VE_L001_S004_P006_GSOE680IT674VE007_fullCG35.smg,
E680I_G_0D.C5.ABP_0D.B3.B1P_T674VE_L001_S004_P006_GSOE680IT674VE007_fullCG36.smg

The last three files were copied to the same directory of the shx file when MultiFlashFlex reported "Erasing flash memory".

I wait until the program finished with an error message saying "Flash failed..".

if i understand correctly, you replaced CG35 at time of flash as well.
you need to reflash with original CG35. CG35 cannot be placed at time of flashing.

it has to be done manually using qonsole or telnet after flashing. for details you can read sticky post of sandman or section 2 of this guide.

teleckn please do not post the same things multiple times. but ill say it here as well: you need the patch file for c5 abp since you are flashing from e680.
