OPIE (Embedded or EZX)

i dont know if i needed to ask it in developement forum exactly, BUT

which one is better OPIE from Cyph (Embedded or Ezx) and why one is better than other.
i am using ezx version. it runs alongwith ezx without any major problem,neglecting the issues that are there for being under developement. i love the port.

shall i try embedded version? will it work with ezx?

yes, both cyph's versions will work with ezx, the main difference is how they were built. the ezx version was a standard opie-only style build, while the opnenembedded version was built as part of the larger open-embededded build (which can be used to build the entire software environment for PDA's, including the root, GUI, etc) and both versions were built against the qt-libs that cyph patched so that his opie proxy can switch between the ezx and opie GUI's.

The openembedded version is a LOT bigger (seems to be mostly taken up by fonts) and has some apps that aren't included in the previous ezx version, but as far as opie goes on the e680 i think the openembedded approach is going to be quite nice.

thanx a lot for replying, saying so cuz normally my posts dont get replies in this forum(i dont know reason) but even then i LOVE this forum. here is a lot to learn

i'll definitely go for OE version, i am just waiting for my 2GB SD card. may be next week. till than i m more than happy with what Cyph did for ezx build.
