Two questions:

1. Can I install both the CG33 and the CG35 at the same time, or only one of the two? Do I need both? (I am an english user, unbranded)

2. Do I need to also flash the rootfs or the full firmware upgrade will do that anyway?

U dont need to use the modded firmware. They have been modified by users and have certain good stuff added and unwanted stuff like ChinaMobile branding removed.

The modded CG's have to be flashed one at a time.

The CG33 can be flashed either while flashing the firmware or using Cyph's flashkit (recommended).

The CG35 can be flashed using the cp /mmc/mmca1/CG35.smg /dev/tffsa command when the CG35.smg is copied to the root of the SD/MMC card.

The full firmware flash flashes the original branded CG35 and the original CG33 (rootfs). To use the modded CG's you have to follow the method stated above.

I made some novice mistake and flashed both 35 and 33 together. Since then teh flashing process keeps on failing after the erasing phase is fhinished, no matter which image version I use. Is there anythign I can do to save my phone, or I have to contact motorolla for it?

Power up your phone in boot-loader mode (VOLUME DOWN BUTTON + POWER BUTTON + CAMERA BUTTON) and then flash your phone with the firmware. The original CG33 can be replaced with the modded one or better still, I recommend Cyph's flashkit. the CG35 can only be flashed using the cp command...

I already did that (VOLUME DOWN BUTTON + POWER BUTTON + CAMERA BUTTON) 2-3 times, both with A4P and ABP versions. Still after the erasing phase is fhinished, the flashing process stops with a fail message.

if you phone is originally an E680, you will not be able to flash to C5A9P/C5ABP directly. You will need to download additional E680 patch by ccrx from ccmove or from here

Some info about my actions so far:
Bought e680
Flashed (PST) to E680i A4P + CG35 - no problems
Flashed (PST) to E680i ABP + CG33 - no problems (didnt use CCRX!!!)
Flashed (PST) to E680i ABP + CG33 + CG35 - Flahed stopped after erasing phase - FLASH FAILED message
Flashed (PST) back to E680i ABP - Flahed stopped after erasing phase - FLASH FAILED message
Flashed (PST) back to E680i A4P - Flahed stopped after erasing phase - FLASH FAILED message

1. Any clue on why is it failing, and what should I do to recover it ?
2. How should I use the CCRX patch ?

firstly put E680_C5.ABP.V3.0.CCRX.exe into the same folder as the firmware shx file.

start PST and when its finish exctracting the shx file, run the patch and follow the instruction to patch the files

Can someone tell me:

1) what are the files that i need in order to proceed with the flashing assume mine is a brand new phone?
2) step by step instructions? (must be in layman terms)
