C5_AB with unicode + multi latin keyboard + multi GUI

i plan to keep it. but i think it could be much KOOL if a /root directory and a .profile could be added in this CG33(as yantz did in rootfs). i liked the way he used bash2 as default shell, /diska/.system/bin included in path, and enabling dircolors. i really loved that.

bash2 can not be used as default shell because XSnes9x didn't work with bash2 as default shell. So I still keep motorola bash as default shell.

To make use of bash2 and keep XSnes9x work, I modified file .profile in /root folder to active bash2 on top of default bash. when you telnet, you still enable to see dircolors and path prompt. when you exit, you need to exit 2 times. first time exit from bash2, second time exit from default bash. bash2 apply to root only when you telnet, so XSnes9x still works with default motorola bash.

I already reload version 1.3. please go to sourceforge to download it again.

i hope that now its done. if so, then i cant currently make another wish. u've made me more than happy.

You have to flash with ThreeSearch's unicode font before you can use this localization solution.

Hi ALL,

I have a problem with keyboard, and need your help.
I'm from Brazil and using E680i (A6P) since december. I have some years of experience with Linux and have made some monster packs to Motorola E398@ROKR.
My problem: I can see all portuguese accented characters, but can't write them ... My keyboard don't have any accented characters ...
Trying to solve my problem, I made a dump of /dev/tffsa and edited. Files copied from Threesearch CG35 ABP: /usr/language/themes/* /usr/language/inputmethods/english_cn.kbd. After that, I can't see any au or ab button. My iconres.ezx have the Input*.gif with au and ab buttons... All md5sum of .so files (from /usr/language) are exactly equal to ABP.
I've tried copying the *.kbd from european A780 to /usr/language/inputmethods too ... No additional keyboard appears...
I don't want to flash my phone to ABP because Motorola don't give me any support to this phone here in my country...

if you are using E680i (A6P) and dont want to flash to ABP, then you can try my c5_a4 multi language GUI. It includes portuguese accented characters keyboard + portuguese GUI. No need to install seperate keyboard for portuguese, my multi latin based keyboard has all portuguese accented characters including "ç".

Go to my home page http://vllp.sourceforge.net to download 2 files:
1. ThreeSearch_C5_A4_multi_language_gui_1.0.zip
2. ThreeSearch_portugues_lang_pack_1.0.zip

No need to flash your phone, just copy it using telnet (your firmware is still C5A6):

what's the difference between my CG35 with english_cn.kbd and themes/* copied from yours CG35, and the c5a4_cg35_multigui_1.0.nkc installed on my phone ?

Autobackup phonebook and SMS is a good idea but can you add a feature to deactivate this feature temporarily? I think that is a secutity issue as people can accidently copy those files to someone's SD when they use those card with computer. Then other ones can dump info from backup files.

You may ask me: Motorola has already suported Chinese GUI on E680i, why you still make Chinese language pack for multi language GUI? What is the benefit to Chinese users?

Here is the list of benefits for Chinese users when they use multi language GUI:

1. pre-loaded 50 Motorola's ring tones.
2. can customize default sms quick text
3. can use multi latin keyboard to keyin Deutsch, Espanol, Francais, Italiano, Portugues, Nederlands together with Chinese keyboards. It is very useful for Chinese users if they want to install Francais-Chinese/Portugues-Chinese... dictionaries.

I don't know, maybe some Chinese users need it, so I just make it.

The difference between your english_cn.kbd and my english_cn.kbd is my keyboard and iconres.ezx have been modified correspondently. You can not just copy only my english_cn.kbd, you need to copy both english_cn.kbd and iconres.ezx.

Auto backup native will run before acmattach.txt. Therefore, if you want to deactivate auto backup feature temporarily, just make a copy of /mmc/mmca1/.system/backup/sysDatabase to somewhere, then modify acmattach.txt to addin this command:
rm -f /mmc/mmca1/.system/backup/sysDatabase/*

When USB cable plugged in, the phone still backup native database to /mmc/mmca1/.system/backup/sysDatabase, but acmattach.txt will remove it.

When you want to re-activate auto backup, remove command rm -f /mmc/mmca1/.system/backup/sysDatabase/* from acmattach.txt

yes, I CAN copy ... and without any changes on iconres.ezx ...
If I change AreaType to AREA_EMEA, the keyboard works great !!


you have CG35 from european A780 ??? I want test keyboards on my E680i ...
