Default Re: C5_AB with unicode + multi latin base keyboards

Chiennk, I tried to help Bagus a few days ago. What I did, I tried to flash Bagus' phone with C5.A4P full - FAILED after erasing flash memory. Also tried with C3.A8P with modified CG33 and CG35 (of course the ones modified for C3.A8P) - also FAILED after erasing flash memory.

"Flash failed" at the end of entire flashing process IS normal. But "flash failed" after erasing flash memory, as far as I know, IS NOT normal.

I guess we should really wait and see if there are other members having the same problem.

Can you try to flash with c5a4_full without any modified firmwares (i.e flash with motorola's origin c5_a4). Why c5_a4 full? Because c5_a4 full works fine with both E680 and E680i.

If your phone still have "flash failed" after erasing flash memory with origin c5_a4_full (without any modified cg) then either your origin firmware c5_a4_full has error or your phone has problem.

If your phone has "flash successfully" with c5_a4_full then try flash again with c5_a4_full + c5_a4_cg33_unicode. It will show "flash failed" but still can boot.

The debug method to know which firmware (c5_a4 or c3_a has problem and/or which modified cg (cg33 or cg35) has problem is try and error method.

Each time try one by one: origin then origin add cg33, then origin add cg33+cg35, dont try all at the same time until you find which one causes the problem.

Recharge battery after any flash, remember to use same version of firmware full and modified cg.

Try this method, you will fix your problem. In worst case, you still have c5_a4 origin firmware (without any modified cg) on your phone.

    One should first establish oneself
in what is proper and only then
try to instruct others. Doing this,
the wise one will not be criticized.

Yea, tried with not-modified full C5.A4P. Was failed.

Strange thing was, Bagus' phone was fine. No problem. He reflashed several times without any problems.

I tried again with A4P. It failed. I looked in the PST error log file and saw the follwoing errors:

    20:24:12, December 05, 2005
    Line: 3922
ERROR: Interface AP-OS: Error Flashing Subscriber Unit Error 0xE0020086
    while sending address 0x8C00000.
    File: Y:\test_dev_usb\flash\code\flashdll\PST_FP_FlashThread.cpp

    20:24:12, December 05, 2005
    Line: 3922
    ERROR: Phone[0000]: *********Flash FAILED!!!*********
    File: Y:\test_dev_usb\flash\code\flashdll\PST_FP_FlashThread.cpp

Does it rings a bell to anyone?

I also get this error, every time I sart the flashing:

    20:30:29, December 05, 2005
    Line: 3922
ERROR: Phone[0000]: The "Secure_Motorola_Flash" Interface could not be found.

    The super-file is secure and for re-flash;

the phone needs a super-file that is not secure and for reflash.
    File: Y:\test_dev_usb\flash\code\flashdll\PST_FP_FlashThread.cpp

    Do you get it also?

    <<<
ERROR: Phone[0000]: The "Secure_Motorola_Flash" Interface could not be found.
    >>>

--> You have not "patched" PST properly or have not installed 14~15 PST drivers correctly.

    My suggestion to this case:

    1. backup everything in your PC (PST, firmware, MS office....)
    2. re-install windows
    3. after install windows, dont connect the phone to PC untill step 5
    4. install PST, "patch" PST properly (You know what I mean "patch")
    5. run PST first, chang the phone to modem mode or press volume down + power + camera together to bring the phone to boot loader stage, connect the phone to PC
    6. PST will automatic detect "Secure_Motorola_Flash Interface" and 14~15 drivers. Browse to PST installed folder when PST ask for the driver's path.
    7. Flash with any firmware you want.
    8. restore/re-install MS office and/or other softwares in your PC

If you follow this instructions correctly, you will able to fix the problem. Yes, this method is very painful but it is VERY useful. It solves the root of the problem.

I'm afraid that's not a good solution, chiennk.!
My friend's E680 has the same problem. After flashing with a modified cg33 and cg35, it failed. I tried to flash it with orginal firmware (from E680 r51 -> E680i cga9p) on my PC (of course my PC is fine cause I usually flash my phone) but there's error:
    20:30:29, December 05, 2005
    Line: 3922
ERROR: Phone[0000]: The "Secure_Motorola_Flash" Interface could not be found.

Now, he send his phone to warranty center. They said that the mainboard must be replaced! Anyone have another way to solve it? Please help quickly!

If it is mainboard's problem (hardware's problem) no one can help except Motorola service centre. They will replace mainboard for you.

What is the purpose of a mirror?
It is for the purpose of reflection.
Even so, an action to be done by body, speech or mind
should only be done after careful reflection.

    Yeah, I think so.
In my opinion, when we fail to flash, the system will "lock something" that prevent us to flash again. So, we have to brought my phone to Motorola servioce center???
