Default EFEM - engineering field mode enable (howto)

Use a P2Kman (P2K Manager, PST version), downloadable from howardforums.

    Edit seem number 0032.
Change bits in offset 44, by setting bits 4,5,6,7 to 1.
After this, upload the seem back to the phone (in the seem field write 0032, in the rec: 0001 and press upload).
Restart the phone from p2kman (faster than manually).

Write either of the following codes in the dialpad:

    WWW009W
    PPP113P1

If you want to test GPRS also, do not disable it in the phone status screen.
If you disable it there, efem will give errors.
To test gprs APN, you need to write the APN name in the Parameters screen, go to IP screen, make it active and then ping.

There are several other codes, dunno what they do:
*P00 - clerk code (could be unlocking code? be careful, it says "wrong code" when putting codes)
    WWW008W - standard info screen
    WWW007W - doesn't work
    WPP111W - doesn't work either

all of these codes are in the phone, but are not enabled (the last 2 at least).

p.p.s. thanks go to evaldas (http://my.mauglis.com/~evaldas/edge/) and whoever compiled the seem offset map, linked from his page.

p.p.p.s. whoever has a good connection with those gsm9d taiwanese people, please look at, and if possible get files from these links (service manuals etc):

    hmm... interesting...
though a;ready had enough low-level e680 documents, that one is new
on another note, at least the service manual for a760 talks about using a normal "hold #" procedure for entering test mode (after inserting a test sim, though), so, its a mystery where they found a # button on a760.

anyway, if you can get some of the stuff from gsm9d, would be real nice
and, strangely, the only useful function enabled by the seem edit currently (besides the cool factor of running efem), is message/tone warning when changing cell. there's also ability to enable eng.field mode, but even after enabling it, don't yet know where to look for the new data..

i also got some unknow flash shx files that got from ccmove.. for what they are used for but have the file name as
    E680I_G_0D.B3.B1P_flash_dev_4M_flash.shx
and another documents of A780 Software release notes about the differnt firmwares in differnt countries and stuff....
do u think they will be useful?

well, get them over here. Not the 4M flash though, dunno what it does yet.
Anyway, the idea is to experiment with the seems. it's pretty easy:

    1. Backup original seem.
    2. Change a bit in the seem.
    3. Upload seem to phone.
    4. Restart phone (from the program, very fast).
    5. Check what's changed.
    6. Repeat from 2.

This way, we can map the seems... though its a daunting task...
