Default Just Got It, and Be Careful

    Everyone,
Well I just got my E680i. I have to say I was suprised by how small it is and the resolution of the screen. Very nice. The only problem is that the box it came in looks worn, and myworldphone.com sent me the wrong color. They list the white phone on their site, but I got the black one. I am sort of thinking of returning it only becuase I am a little worried by the box condition (packaging) and because they displayed one color and sent me another. Anyone else had problems with this? Am I being to anal? I spent a fair ammount on this phone, and want to make sure I do the right thing. Any help would be appreciated as well.
With any luck I will soon be able to add to this forum rather than just ask questions.

    "u paid for a E680I but got a E680 ??"

from the e680i are avalable in silver/black and silver/white.

from the e680(not i) are avalable in silver/black and blue/white(chinese version)

    and e680 (prototype?) = orange/silver/black.

i think since the e680i was out, but maybe they advertising it more for the white one...
    Motorola e680 (flashed to e680i) + 4Gb SD card + HT820 Stereo BT Hedphones,
    Ubuntu 6.10 + 7.04,
    Nokia N95 + 8Gb microSD

i think motorola advertises the silver/white one more on purpose, because they want consumers to *think* that the e680 and e680i are totally different phones, so that they will want to buy it for more $$$, when in fact, as we can all tell if we have flashed our phones, there is actually no difference

According to one of the web news I saw last month,
One of the Motorola Asia Pacific spokeman mentioned, Due to demand, they had released the black color E680i unit onto the market.

    Black E680i ???
It just lead me to think of maybe this is just Moto conspiracy that secretly flashed the black E680 with E680i firmware in order to clear their old E680 stock or assemble it with the new Silver/White phone casing.
(money wasting as more inventory and scrap cost needed)
Don't think there's plenty of customer like us that know how to checked the different.

jakeryan90 brother, maybe you can try to check your black color E680i unit firmware version and type them out here so we can help you to identify whether you got the old E680 flashed to E680i firmware unit.

    To do that,
Go to phone dial pad screen, to input WWW008W in full onto the dial pad sceen and it will show you the firmware version that the phone having.

Fyi, to input the W word, click on touch screen right bottom key and select Insert > Insert Wait

The real E680i will have the Firmware version displayed in full screen,
whereas the flashed old E680 impersonating the E680i unit will have the firmware display in 2/3 screen only.
I've know there's way to make it display in full screen too but let us try to help out our jakeryan90 brother to do the basic check 1st.

It comes in a screen which leaves little bit of the top four buttons and some millimeters on the other three sides. I would not call it full screen, neither I would call it 2/3.
