    FBReader – e-book reader for Linux/Windows XP/FreeBSD computers

    blackhawk has done a great work in porting FBReader to E680i.

    FBReader is an e-book reader for various platforms. It was orignally written for Sharp Zaurus. Currently FBReader works on

    * Sharp Zaurus with Qtopia-based ROMs, pdaXrom or OpenZaurus ROM.
    * Archos PMA430.
    * Siemens Simpad with Opensimpad 0.9.0/Opie ROM.
    * Nokia 770/N800 Internet Tablets (maemo).
    * PepperPad 3 handheld web computer.
    * Linux desktop.
    * Windows XP computer.
    * FreeBSD computer.
    * Motorola E680i/A780 smartphones. (This port is available from the third-party site, see below.)
    * IRex iLiad. (This port is available from the third-party site, see below.)

    FBReader is distributed under the terms of the GNU GPL.

    Main features:

    * Supported formats are
    o fb2 e-book format (style attributes are not supported yet).
    o HTML format (tables are not supported).
    o CHM format (tables are not supported).
    o plucker format (embedded images are supported, tables are not supported).
    o Palmdoc (aportis doc).
    o zTxt (Weasel format).
    o TCR (psion text) format.
    o RTF format (stylesheets and tables are not supported).
    o OEB format (css and tables are not supported).
    o OpenReader format (css and tables are not supported).
    o Non-DRM'ed mobipocket format (tables are not supported).
    o Plain text format.
    * Direct reading from tar, zip, gzip and bzip2 archives. (Multiple books in one archive are supported.)
    * Supported encodings: utf-8, us-ascii, windows-1251, windows-1252, koi8-r, ibm866, iso-8859-*, Big5, GBK. Automatic encoding detection is supported.
    * Automatically generated contents table.
    * Embedded images support.
    * Footnotes/hyperlinks support.
    * Position indicator.
    * Keeps the last open book and the last read positions for all opened books between runs.
    * List of last opened books.
    * Automatic hyphenations. Liang's algorithm is used. The same algorithm is used in TeX, and TeX hyphenation patterns are used in FBReader. Patterns for Czech, English, Esperanto, French, German and Russian are included in the current version.
    * Text search.
    * Full-screen mode.
    * Screen rotation by 90, 180 and 270 degrees.

    swifty, where can i find these ebooks that can be read using this freader ?
    not the normal ebook i guess? i found 1 site, but it is in DNL format

    what is a software to make an ebook or convert for *.doc to fbreader ebook file? thx.

    the program you used for creating RAMdump.doc
    can be used to save as *.rtf or *.txt

    How to select text while reading?
    When i slip on screen,it just scroll,scroll and scroll...
