Super COOL Procedures to get into 3 Modes using modem mode!!

how do i do that exactly?? k, lets say I wanna copy new iconres to overwrite... thru samba...the procedures are...
1) telnet to root in cmd prompt, login,
2) type chown ezx:ezx
3) goto samba drive , drag n drop n "overwrite"...
4) exit telnet
5) do i have to do that everytime, or only once in telnet mode...

That is gonna help me speedup my theme testing...

you dont have to chown everytime, only when you not gonna do anything to it, then you chown

Ok i dun have time for graphics... I'll juz explain in words.. if u follow carefully, u should get it set up in a short time!! If u use XP, this is the procedures:
First set your phone to "MODEM" mode!!!

1) get to system properties-> Hardware-> device manager-> modems ->double click on "motorola usb modem", get to advanced-> extra initialisation string, enter "at+mode=99", click ok n close
2) Next u gotta create a dialup network connection to connect to your E680 in USBLAN mode. Goto network connection wizard-> choose "connect to the network at my workplace", select "dialup connection", enter a connection name eg. "E680 USBLAN", enter "123" for phone no., select to "place shortcut on desktop".
3) If u click on network connections now, u should see a USBLAN dialup network. Modify the dialup connection properties to use "motorola usb modem" as connect device, uncheck "prompt for pw", prompt for phone no" under options. close .
4) Now click on the shortcut icons to start the dialing, u will encounter an "error", click "CANCEL" n u will get connected to the phone in USB LAN Mode. how do ya knoe?

every thing went on smoothly... when i click on CANCEL, there will be some changes to it. New Hardware Found will pop up and prompt me to install my driver.
Under Device Manager, there will be an exclaimation mark beside motorola usb modem.
I disable my PCI modem card as well.
What could be wrong?

I do have the problem of doing sync as well. It just keep showing, could not connect to sync server.
Only sucessfully implemented once.

after installin and double click on the shortcut & click CANCEL.
the motorola usb modem will changed to a network adapter card --> Belacarra USB LAN LINK. Is that correct?

Local Area Connection 2 will appear and when i check on the IP, it shows
169.254.142.1 instead of 169.254.142.2
I could not map any drive to any of the IP.. what could be wrong?
do a ping and there's a response.

Is there a conflict between the 2 LAN connection?

Hi,
I've managed to install all the necessary drivers and stuff...and can telnet into my phone...however for some reason I can't map a drive to \\169.254.142.2\system...anyone can help me out on this one? And oh yeah...somehow my existing internet connection will go crazy...(I'm assuming IE is trying to use the "phone" to access pages.

I can connect mine to PC in modem mode. i copy files from HP to PC vs, but i can't sync. Local Area Connection 3 appear and IP is 169.254.142.1
i can ping 169.254.142.2 but i can't telnet - help me pls!
