create a batch files say E680.bat with the following content, just replace the com4 with whatever com number you are using

connect the phone, set to USB and click the batch files, the windows explorer will show the samba folder.

So my concern is currently now does it affect any theme installatino procedures. eg.... u copy newtheme.mtf to the sd card, u goto phone n execute it, n it installed succesfully, later u want to uninstall n install another new version, does it have any problems? or wat abt copying other files for eg to sd card, like docs, mp3, etc, wat is the impact, or is it u will get a deletion denied error if u dun chmod???

But in this case u are connecting thru USB, which disables the phone function, isnt it?

as long as you dont touch the themefiles or pb files with samba, there shouldnt be any problem.

I see ... so u r saying unless u want a quick way out by juz changing the iconres using the overwrite method, then u need chmod (btw, it means that we need to goto telnet mode is it?, can u writeup a proper procedure for me?) that is cool cos that means i dun even have to recompile the entire theme but juz the iconres will do... save me lots of trouble installing n uninstalling themes, rite??

yes, exactly its not chmod, its chown

eg. you delete /ezxlocal/download/theme/icon/MacOSX.dhm/iconres.ezx because you have new iconres.ezx to replace. then you copy the new iconres.ezx into that same folder, it'll be saved as owner: root, group: root. then if uninstall the theme and then tried to use my theme_uninstaller.lin to remove the iconres.ezx file, it failed because it dont have permission to delete that file. so every file that you copy over using samba have to be chown ezx:ezx

how do i do that exactly?? k, lets say I wanna copy new iconres to overwrite... thru samba...the procedures are...
1) telnet to root in cmd prompt, login,
2) type chown ezx:ezx
3) goto samba drive , drag n drop n "overwrite"...
4) exit telnet
5) do i have to do that everytime, or only once in telnet mode...

That is gonna help me speedup my theme testing...

er... should be lor, by the way the method you mention, how to swithc phone to modem mode? mine only got USB and Bluetooth option leh. can enlighten me?
