    Default E680 -> E680 "i" - what's the current stat

Hi guyz, have been away for a couple weeks and I see you all worked hard!! Lots of new stuff going on!!

I read thru all the old posts and am a bit confused about upgrading the E680 to E680 "i".

So here are a couple questions for you:

    1) I read about problems with caller ID and SMS after upgrade. Have these problems been solved?

    2) what are the REASONS to upgrade, apart from the nicer interface (which, BTW, is quite identical to A780)?

Thanks in advance for your time!!

    Sincerely yours,
    Leopardus II

    1. after flashing, +6512345678 is not equal to 12345678, thus problems with called id. on my e398, this can be solved by seem editing. i tried on the e680i, doesnt work. perhaps we could try uploading a780 seem into e680i.

    2. other than ui, i dont feel any difference at all. but it now has bt spp. and i believe, its a780's ui out of the box more games, builtin opera and picsel, basically thats it

if i miss anything else, someone pls post thx.

What kind of problem is the one with the area code?
Is it just that it doesn't recognize caller by name, and that you have to put explicitly the area code into the addressbook entry? If that's it, I got the exact same problem on my E680, and all my numbers are stored with area code in front already... Please explain.

Also... does the 680 "i" browser work with ebay and SSL?
Opera on A780 cannot open SSL pages apparently, and Piscel on E680
    doesn't work with ebay login...

    Thanks!

    Rick

on my network, which is m1, calls came in without country/area codes. but sms came in with country/area codes. on the e680, i have numbers stored without codes and when someone call, it shows the caller id pic. and when someone sms me, the caller id pic is shown also. thus in the e680, 111-222-3334444 = 222-3334444 = 3334444. on the e680i, its not the same. now when someone calls me, the caller id pic appear as usual, but when he sms me, no pic came up, only numbers with country/area code came up. if i change my phonebook entry to include the country/area codes, sms caller id works but not in voice calls.

this can normally be fix on other motorola phones by seem editing. i already tried editing the seem, but it still doesnt work

i already tried ebay, cant login.

i think, i m not change to e680i firmware, my e680 runs fine with the original firmware.
if yes, then just about the 2gb SD card support and may stereo BT headphones, but i have some new trouble with telnet, calling ID and that stuff.. hmmm.. may i wait to get a e680ii(with 4Gb SD card support) or iii(with 8Gb SD)
