ok back to topic,
can't locate the crontab in /usr/bin
thus doubt can use it, however I try to copied my linux crontab to /usr/bin, but its always says acess denied, seems like /usr/bin is protected, anyway to overcome this?

you will probably have to recompile the crontab application before it will work on the phone (see the thread on developing native qt apps). Once you have a compiled version, you can create an additional "bin" directory (e.g. /diska/bin) then update the PATH environment variable accordingly. It may be tricky to get the cron jobs to start with a simple phone reboot as we cannot (yet) modify the boot sequence, but you could use yantz's llin-loader shell script to start a cronjob process that should run as long as the phone is running...)Originally Posted by tungsten
I say why bother with C crontab? If scheduled tasks are what you want it would be easier to make your own little Java app, or modify one of the many Java scheduler apps to include script execution.

that's deep, unless we have a emulator for E680, else dev work will be difficult, too bad the emulator by moto not that good, only able to test Java program but not the system itself
