Unlocking e680...

Hey guys~
Not sure if I'm allowed to ask these kind of questions but I can't seem to find any forum rules. Anyways I just bought an e680 from ebay for only 200 bucks, problem is it's locked to cingular and I use t-mobile. I know I can pay a service to give me a code but does a generator exist so I can do it myself?

ask the seller how to unlock it, you should have asked him at first before you purchase that phone

There isnt any generator, and dont worry, no rules (yet), except about picsel.

Ok well I got the phone...when I turn it on (without the sim card) it tells me there is no sim card, so I continue with the attenna off (it does this with on too) and it asks for a lock code...what's up with that?

sounds like he has set the security code...

Try the standard ones like 0000/000000/1234/123456, if those dont work, reflash it

I tried all the standard codes, none of them work.
I did a search on this forum for guides to reflashing it, could somebody point me to the easiest way to flashing this phone, I have never tried this stuff before (and will flashing unlock this phone for me?)

The phone is almost certainly not locked to Cingular, since Cingular never carried the phone.

Better to concentrate on security codes on the SIM or phone. Is there any extra text on the prompt, or just "Lock Code"? You should call T-Mobile and ask them for the SIM unlock codes for your card, as they might not be the default.
