GUIDE TO TELNET E6 !

If anyone's experienced in Telnet E6, please guiding for everybody how to Telnet E6 step by step !

1: Go to Start>Run and type 'Cmd' and press OK
2: Type ipconfig in the Shell Prompt
3: Keep window open NOTE WHAT THE SCREEN LOOKS LIKE.
4: Set 'USB Net' in USB Settings on E6
5: Connect to PC
6: Type ipconfig again
7: Note the IP address that is added to the list of crap that was spat out.
8: The default IP is 192.168.16.1 add '1' to the end, ie: 192.168.16.2
9: Now type 'Telnet (Insert IP address here)" NOTE: Don't type (192.168.16.1), instead type Telnet 192.168.1.2
10: It will give a login prompt, type 'root' and press enter. There is no password, one just presses enter there as well.
11: You should be given a new looking prompt than windows. That means it worked

BTW, if you don't have USB Net in your list of settings (to my knowledge) you cannot telnet. Atleast, i haven't seem anyone telnet w/o this setting. Luckily, when i get my E6 (in 1-3) days, i will test an edit to the f/w if it already doesn't make it work.

It will be here in 4 days... (I'm counting them down haha). No worries though, telnetting for the E2 is the same as the E6. I do have an E2.

this is great, but how do you get the USB net thing on the phone? I only have mass storage, web cam, and modem mode on mine.

NO !


The are a few ways to put the phone in usbnet mode ,

1 is by using hyperterminal (In Hyper terminal type "at+mode=13" )

the other is by using an application called usbnet_a1200.zip

Please refer to the A1200 Forum (especially the stickies )for technical stuff like this , I read a lot there and all I read is workin on the E6 ...

Sorry men because this's the first time i use Linux phone so, i do'nt know after Telnet sucessfully how can i do with my phone ?

Hi,
i installed USBNet, and i connected the phone, and it needs USBLAN drivers!!!
i found drivers here,: http://www.motorolafans.com/forums/s...ead.php?t=4880

but wont work, i restarted the process as given in the guides for e6, but it still cant find the drivers,!!!

please help,
