Great news from china.China mobile already release motorola Rokr E6E (edge) that support Edge.
And now you can update your mobile software at motorola's website.

I have the 06p firmware and when I try and do the Motorola Software Update it tells me I have the latest version and does not proceed.

I just downloaded the Software update. Is there any way for me to extract it so I can see what firmware it is? It is under the Hong Kong web site, btw.

I have not installed it yet, I was kind of hoping to see what it was first..

When I open it with 7-Zip this is what it shows:

Motorola_Software_Update_01.08.08.msi

So I take it that is 08P?

That is not 08p. That is like RSD Lite, only it will update your phone if it thinks you have old f/w. You cannot choose which f/w, and like 75% of the time it won't update, it'll say that your phone is on current f/w. In theory, if you flash to 02p, you should be able to get the newest f/w. But again, that is just a theory. It wouldn't hurt though, the worst that would happen is you'll have to resync ringtones and contacts right? :P You can d/l it @ most localized HelloMoto sites.

I guess I will have to break out my xp drive to do it.
