Default Battery or E6 phone problem?

    Hi guys!

I'm having problem with my old E6, hope you can help me.

I've an E6 that hasn't been used for months now (6 months i guess). I thought of reviving it again so I charged the E6 and started using it again but the battery last only for less than 2 hours, the worst thing is, it is draining this fast in standby mode. So, I'm guessing that the problem is the battery, I bought a new one, a replacement battery by a reliable brand ( I said reliable because I'm using same brand with my replacement battery in my Ericsson and LG phone) since original BC-70 in our place was not available.

I charged it again using the replacement battery but same problem, draining in less than 2 hours in standby mode. Bought another battery but it's just the same. I'm still using the original f/w of the phone.

I tried downloading f/w here and flashed my E6 but still same problem - draining extremely fast!

Here's the condition of the phone:

    - My 5 yrs old son has been using it before when playing games and has been dropped many times (as in many!) but still the phone is still functioning with no problem - touchscreen, keys, call, all other are functioning well. Maybe the reason why my son stopped playing on it was because it started draining so fast that I thought before was a battery problem.

Have you encountered same problem as I have now? Any suggestions on what to do? or is it just time to make it as a paper weight?

you can alternatively use BK-60 or just BC-60 when the BC-70 wasn't up there.
and what version of FW / Monster do you use?
try with 8p-based Monster like mine, the Lightspeed 3 which ain't greed in battery. And if still the problem persists, then I suspecting the hardware problem rather than sftware, mainly in the Power subsystem or RF PA units (there inside the phone boards).
so I suggestin you to go repair for it......... but...... it should'nt be happen as I hope

Thanks Hendz. I've used FW r535h10_g_11.87.22p - by kundan and Firmware MFUNS Final but it's still the same.

It seems you're right that my E6 might be having a hardware problem. I borrowed an original battery and still the same. I also have noticed that the cover of the phone is continuously heating a bit even if not in use. When I open the phone I saw some marks of water on the side part of the board and the tiny internal battery corroded. Maybe my son also played it with water hahaha!

Now what I did was replace the internal battery (a tiny circular batter like those used in wrist watch). Cleanup the boards with toothbrush and flash to generic R533_G_11.12.08P FW.

Battery life seems improved, now lasting to almost 5 hours standby before dying. I tried playing music continuously and wait til it dies and lasted about 4 hours. so it seems there's something using the phone that i can't see.

    Anyway, thanks again.

Thanks Hendz. I'll try your FW.

Btw, is there a way I can check the clock speed my E6 is currently using?

    sure is...
simply click the "SYSinfo" app inside the monster right after you flashing in
remember that ma current speed on there is 312 MHz to be default, to conserve more energy on the batt.
you can turn it yourself into 512 MHz, even by 624 MHz MAX, just by adding an APMD into the MMC card.. ..as I explained on that page too.
have fun with ma monster and thankz

yea i think u can use BC-60 instead when there no BC-70 exists, though we found that BC-60 might only give us about 900 mAh which wasn't stronger than BC-70 has.

You'd better have your phone repaird shop,or you can have a check by yourself, the important part is power module,I have the Circuit pdf files but there are some problems to upload the file, this is my E-mailianbingbing@gmail.com,I can copy to you from E-mail.
