  1. Default Display the day of the week

My E6 home screen shows the date in the following format : 11-10-2010. That is 11th of October 2010. I want it to display the name of the day as well. That is, something like: Monday 11-10-2010. How to do it? I went to settings but could not find an option to do this. Can anybody help? Thanks in advance

This is a great phone and this is the only thing I wish it had. Often we go by the day of the week to find our moorings, date is too technical, I would want the ability to quickly take out my phone and know what day it is, that would be great. But surely if you can write a scientific calc app, it should be possible to determine the day of the week, given the date (there are many formulae and algorithms that do that for you), and is there no way of then making it appear on the desktop(or palmtop?) and even if it means to press a couple of buttons to find out, I wouldn't mind it, but surprised how this simple thing was overlooked

No need of cli source code. I modified novesky's desktop widget quick and dirty to have a nice weekday widget. Therefore it is sufficient to use the QDateTime class.
For better functions you can use classes from Qtopia/Opie see eclock.

You have an app to display week etc. App name is Today. You can download from forum. I am using this app. If your firmware supports Autorun then it will be still more better. Because if your firmware supports autorun you can run Today app on every boot. If not then manually you have turn on this app everytime you reboot.
