Thread: Password protect your incoming messages..NO SOFTWARE REQUIRED

  1. Thumbs up Password protect your incoming messages..NO SOFTWARE REQUIRED

Here is a simple trick i found out myself..
Some of you might already be knowing it.
what this does is whenever you open a new incoming message, your phone will ask you to enter a password..

    Here is the trick
First go to MENU>>SETUP>>SECURITY>>CHANGE PASSWORDS>>PHONE UNLOCK CODE
now you will be asked to ENTER OLD CODE...the default code would be either "1234" or "000000" [without quotes ofcourse]
once this is done, you would be asked to ENTER NEW CODE...so enter any new code of your choise and do remember the code.Let us assume the new code is "6543"

Now go to your SMS option and create a NEW FOLDER(by clicking on OPTIONS>>NEW FOLDER).
Let me name my new folder as "Unread msgs" and thn TICK on "PROTECTED BY LOCK CODE"
Now you will be asked to enter the lock code..so just enter the new code which you have choosen..in our example it is "6543" and click on done.

Then go back to SMS option and choose storage location from the options there..
We have to change the settings here..Now you can see "PLACE INCOMING SMS IN:".
By default it is "INBOX"...change that to "Unread msgs" and click save!
    thats it

    simple isnt it?
now whenever you get a new msg,the msg gets redirected to "Unread msgs" and when you click on "READ",it will ask for password..
so from now on you needed worry about your mom/dad or sis/bro/frnds reading you gfs or friends messages..simple because THEY CANT READ YOUR MESSAGES!
    ENJOY!!

If you like my trick/post then do tell me Thanks by replying to this post.
    Thank you
