support SDHC for E6/E6E

i have a kingston 8 gb sdhc...when i change the id to fat 16 after formatting it into fat 32, it only shows 4 gb.
how can i use my entire 8 gb?
are linux partition formats supported...?ext3?

you formatted it from fat16 to fat32 right?

as shown in the previous posts..i formatted it to FAT32.i only changed the ID to FAT16.
it is still FAT32 but the operating system recognizes it as FAT16.

I bought 8gb sdhc (kingston class4) and formatted it in my pc with fat32, then put in phone. the phone shows 2gb capacity even after formatting from the phone itself. what am i missing?? please help.
my firmware is 22p based(nik's).

Hey any other alternative.
by the way, i tried using command prompt and gave these commands:

"format f:/ fs:FAT16"

after that the phone detects only 2gb

another question:

Is fat32 supported on e6?? and if someone got 8gb sdhc(kingston) working in e6, then please post stepbystep procedure you did to get the work done. (it would be really appreciated).
If nothing works im gonna format the memory card with ext3 and lets see.

Man i formatted the sdhc card with nokia n95. the phone said that the card is not formatted and asked whether to format it.
I have formatted it and still 2 GB is available.

Lovey, did you run 8gb on ur e6? if so what filesystem is your memory card - FAT or FAT32?

ok i read this discussion between sandeep and amit, and changed the id to "06". but the phone shows up only 3gb space. I am using Kingston 8GB. Anyone else using this type of card. please hlp
