Not entirely sure on the exactl question.
When you install java apps, the phone allows you to choose which category to place the icon in. This is equally the case for signed pkg apps (if you can find them..).
As for pkg's...
You are generally using an app to install these other apps (like a kind of install/uninstall manager). This app does not manage to allow the user a choice for where the icon must be placed though. And since it's impossible for the installation process to determine the new apps' "category", it places it in a default location (although mine varies).
Just change the category after installation (hold and tap icon in any category besides "all").

yup its possible...
just open d category in which installed application is...eg open Games in tab list(pkg file r installed in games generally) den tap n hold stylus till popup comes dere is option change category click on it n den select Tab names where u want to put application under category...
dere is no such trick yet..one hv 2 change it by own...its not a hard job to do...
I know.. people want everything shortcut these days!
