This ^above^ is firmware dependant. Since my firmware does not support startup scripts I use RunScript (executed by Yan0's Startup) and it uses a file named "autorun.lin" placed in its install directory. But don't think this is the correct thread to continue such a discussion. Search a bit.

Ok, since you are unsure about startup scripts I'm just attaching the method I use, since I don't know which firmwares support startup scripts and how each handle them. (Remove .zip extensions)
    >> Install Yan0's Startup > it's in Chinese > Just accept it this way.
    >> Install RunScript
    >> Replace autorun.lin in /mmc/mmca1/.system/QTDownLoad/RunScript with the one provided.
    >> Open Yan0's Startup and check RunScript from the list > then click the left button(s).
    >> Restart phone (that's if you've copied the fingerpad files into /ezxlocal/fpad/ ).
    Done

    Here are some easy instructions:
    What you need:
-eKonsole (optional -but I'm explaining using this)
-Startup scripts working (if your firmware doesn't support it, use Yan0's Startup 0.3 and use that to execute intemario_gr's RunScript)
    -FingerPad itself (see first post)
    How to:
-Extract FingerPad to the root of your SD - rename folder to "fpad", all files must be under this folder.
-Open eKonsole and type the following:

    -- cd ezxlocal >> <Enter> (joystick press)
    (change to ezxlocal directory)

    -- mkdir fpad >> <Enter>
    (make directory in ezxlocal)

    -- cd / >> <Enter> (may not need this)
    (go to root)

    -- cp -r /mmc/mmca1/fpad/* /ezxlocal/fpad/ >> <Enter>
(copy files from memory card to phone memory)

-Once the files are in place, add the following to your startup file:
    mount --bind /ezxlocal/fpad/libfpad.so.1.0.0 /usr/lib/ezx/lib/inputmethods/libnumberboard.so.1.0.0

    -Restart phone

In case you didn't know - FingerPad is mounted over your Number Board - so to use it: when typing text, select it from the available input methods drop-down list.

    That's it!

-Once the files are in place, add the following to your startup file:
    mount --bind /ezxlocal/fpad/libfpad.so.1.0.0 /usr/lib/ezx/lib/inputmethods/libnumberboard.so.1.0.0

could u explain these line more briefly.. i copied fpad folder to ezxlocal but where is the startup file ?

Please refer to post 12 regarding the startup script.

You must see how your firmware handles startup scripts.
Many firmwares look for a file named "startup.txt" or "startup1.txt" on the root of the memory card.

hi bro, i finally got the finger pad to work in my E6. but still i feel the finger pad is uncomfortable, i wish there would be a dictionary mode or predictable text. do u have any idea about that ?.. thanx bro.
