Internet works but can't access emails

With every email program I use (app that comes on E6, gmail app,flurry app) I can't seem to access my email accounts. Once I go to send/receive, I choose my data connection (FidoWAP). A minute later I get the error message saying "This Program requires a data connection". But my internet works fine..? Any suggestions? Thanks

maybe you need GPRS access.

Don't I have GPRS access if I can access the internet? I have a data plan.

a WAP connection is not the same as GPRS.
maybe the mail programs are not working with WAP.
(but i am not sure about this)

Tried the email app Morange and all seems to work now. Good stuff!
