    Question numbers on firmwares?

    hi,
    a n00b queation,.... i cant find a place to post it! id thought id post it here!
    my phone is about to run out on warrenty, so am thinking to flash with a custom fw!
    can someone explain the fuzzy numbers to me?

    i understand 08p is the current fw which comes with the phone,....atleast it came with mine! so what are 09p 10p, 22p and 54r variants?

    ^^^Your phone came with 08p firmware, but there are newer firmwares released by motorola like the 09p etc. you have mentioned. Check release notes etc. to see the bug fixes or anyother improvement that each of the firmware brings along.

    Different countries (and different regions) have different firmware specific to locations. Thats the reason for the variants. usually, the generic ones are the leaked ones from the motorola service centres and other "official" places. then other modders work on it to provide their flavors of the firmware.
