Default Regd. more utilities for eKonsole (bash2)

How do I add more utilities for the shell (bash2)? Can I build / port the same myself from any sources? F.e.g utilities like vim, emacs, slrn, mutt, procmail, fetchmail, awk, cut, bzip2, mc, rar, sort etc etc and maybe a c++/jre env too?
    Cheers, Andy

Well, it's easy. First, take a look at http://www.motorolafans.com/forums/d...-tools-e6.html - this is my program that makes it easier, it has integrated ekonsole and runs in chroot environment. It has also whole coreutils ported + busybox, which makes it good start point. Then take a look at http://www.motorolafans.com/forums/d...tml#post155429 (post 7) which explains how to make ncurses work. From now on, you'll be able to port anything you'll want for the console.
Btw - emacs?! How are you going to press M-x m-c and so on

Awesome, thanks. Got the core utils working. Btw, how do I type the "|" character? I will attempt to work on the SDL env in the weekend.

To all the vim users: anybody setup a .vimrc for e6 already? Care to share? I will do so eventually when I create one of my own, but I thought I better ask as I am not familiar with getting around all the control / meta characters on e6 yet (I do now know that vol+ is ctrl). At the minimum, will setup utility key binding as I struggle to type fast on my e6 / old eyes. Btw, I see the tab completion does not work. But I think I saw that vim.sh does not use bash2, guess that's the issue. Will check.

Vim encryption working perfect, reads all my encrypted files from my linux workspace. Super.
